Stargate

The "Stargate" movie inspired a television show called Stargate SG-1, which followed the adventures of a group of explorers from Earth. A spinoff of the SG-1 series named Stargate: Atlantis took viewers into a new galaxy and introduced a new enemy.

Now, as the SG-1 series nears the end of its production run, fans look forward to a three-movie DvD arc that reunites members of the original SG-1 team. And in 2008 a new Stargate series, Stargate: Universe begins production with a whole new cast.
